The Excellence Center in Europe isn’t only a language school but also a meeting point of migrants, refugees and local Germans. 

The Excellence Centre in Europe offers various of internships in Germany with a minimum duration of one month to three months.   

Why is the minimum duration of an internship at the center one month? 

One month is considered to be enough time for an intern to do the following:

  • Get to know the city of Halle and understand the nature of life in the city
  • Get a good connection with a host family where you learn better the daily life, traditions and culture of refugees and migrant’s family
  • Gain a valuable experience at the center through meeting people and sharing your experience and skills with other people
  • Receive 12 hours of either Arabic or German lessons taught by the center’s qualified teachers. One month of learning a language will build and improve your language skills.   
  • The international student has the opportunity to travel Germany each week during his/her weekend, including nearby cities like Leipzig, Dresden, Frankfurt, and Berlin. A 4 ½ hour drive can also permit you to visit the Czech Republic.

Internship in Germany for International Students requirements:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Open to intensive hours of Arabic or German language instruction;
  • A positive attitude and openness for learning Arabic and German culture, and the plights of refugees and immigrants in Germany.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Willing to be a part of a family in Halle, Germany.

What you don’t need to join the internship in Germany:

  • You do not need to speak Arabic or German.
  • You do not need to have an academic degree.
  • You do not need experience in teaching English.
  • You do not need to be a student.

2. Teach English and Study Arabic internship

The Teach English and Study Arabic in Germany (TESA) Program will give you the opportunity to come to Germany where you will not only teach English but also study Arabic. In this internship program, you will teach Germans, refugees and all those who are willing to learn English. All required materials will be provided by the center as well as a manual guide which will help your teaching and give you number of educational activities to use in class.

The Teach English and Study Arabic in Germany (TESA) program is not only an educational program but also has it own social side where you will be fully engaged in the city’s Arabic culture by participating in our educational, social and interactive activities as well as our cultural evenings organized by the center, aimed at gathering the participants with locals and the refugees.

3. Internship in Germany 

The ‘Internship in Germany’ program is designed for those who are willing to get practical experience according to their fields of interest and skills and gain a better understanding of the refugee situation in Halle, getting to know their stories and the integration process into the German culture and community. 

The ‘Internship in Germany’ program is an ideal opportunity for those who want to understand the refugee resettlement situation within Germany, get to know the Arabic culture, German-culture, study German or Arabic and teach conversational English to the center’s students who come from different countries and backgrounds.

When and how long can I normally intern in Germany? 

Internship programs for international students in Germany at the Excellence Center are designed to provide flexibility for you and your schedule:

  • Not only can you apply at any time of the year (winterspringsummerautumn) , but you may also choose your own start and end dates. 
  • Our internship programs run from one to three months – you decide on the length of your commitment.

What are the benefits of the internship programs in Germany? 

As an intern or a student in one of our internship programs, your one-time fee includes the following:

  •  You will receive three hours per week of language instruction in either German or Arabic – your choice. 
  • You will join in the many social and cultural activities organized by the center. 
  • These activities are designed to promote language practice, and cultural education exchange between the refugees and the international interns. Our aim is to build bridges between cultures.
  • You will reside with a host family or in a shared room in the city of Halle. This will give you a degree of language and cultural immersion so that you can practice newly learned language skills.
