The Excellence Center in Europe is pleased to announce that applications are now open for its Study German Programs in Germany for 2026–2027, offering learners the opportunity to develop their language skills in a dynamic and immersive environment. Based in Halle (Saale), these programs are open to participants of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners, and provide flexible study options ranging from one week to three months with year-round start dates.

Participants can choose from a variety of learning formats, including intensive and non-intensive German courses, summer programs, and online classes, all designed to meet different goals and schedules. With small class sizes, personalized instruction, and the opportunity to practice German in everyday situations, learners benefit from a comprehensive experience that combines language development with cultural immersion. Whether studying in Germany or online, participants gain valuable skills and confidence in using German in real-life contexts.

German Courses for Different Affinities

The Center provides German courses for all different interests and language skills. You can study German in our intensive and non-intensive courses, get private lessons in our one-to-one individual courses, or learn online with us. There are also German courses that prepare you for a certified language diploma or university studies. Whether you want to learn Business German, practice what you have previously studied, or enhance your speaking skills, the Excellence Center in Halle has the perfect German course for you!

We offer intensive German courses from the level of A1 to B2, all of which provide the chance of achieving your language goals. This study program is also very beneficial for those studying German in their home country who need to practice the language. Lessons will be taught from Monday to Friday.

When and How Long Can I Study German?

  • There is no deadline as the program is open year-round
  • The applicant may apply at any time throughout the year
  • The applicant chooses their start and end dates
  • The applicant can join a program for one week up to three months. 

Online Language Courses Before and After Your Stay in Germany

Potential participants coming to Germany can take an online German course before arriving, helping them build a solid foundation with the language. These online courses are designed for different levels and needs, making them suitable for beginners as well as more advanced learners. Starting early allows participants to feel more confident and better prepared when they begin their experience in Halle (Saale).

Participants may also continue taking online courses after completing their stay in Germany. This ensures that learning continues beyond the program, allowing individuals to further develop their language skills and maintain their connection to Halle and the wider cultural and linguistic environment over time.

Intensive and Non-Intensive German Courses

The Excellence Center in Europe offers two types of German courses: An intensive course which consists of 20 hours of study per week; or a non-intensive course consisting of 12 hours per week. 

Intensive German Course: 20 Hours per week

This course is recommended for those who want to learn as much German as possible during their short stay in Germany. It is ideal for those wishing to learn German intensively and in a short period of time.

  • The student has five days of lessons per week (Monday to Friday). 
  • Each lesson lasts for four hours (45-minute class and a 15-minute break per hour), totaling 20 hours per week.

Non-Intensive German Course: 12 Hours per Week

The non-intensive German course meets the needs of those who do not wish to take daily lessons or those who simply need more time to follow up on classroom learning or complete homework. Some students want to have more time for other activities or visiting landmarks in Germany.

  • The student has three lessons for three days each week. Students can choose which three days they would prefer (Monday to Friday).
  • Each lesson lasts for four hours (45 minutes of class time and 15 minutes of break each hour), totaling 12 hours per week.

Course Levels

The Excellence Center in Europe offers Study German in Germany in the form of intensive and non-intensive German Courses for all levels from beginner to upper intermediate (Levels offered: A1, A2, B1, B2): 

Starter Course (A1)

This course is designed for those without any prior knowledge of German. Students begin to gain skills in reading, writing, and basic conversation.

Beginner Course (A2)

Students with a basic knowledge of German will benefit from the Beginner Course. This course allows students to continue to improve their writing, reading, listening, and speaking skills.

Intermediate Course (B1)

Those with a solid foundation in the German language will continue to progress in conversational skills. This course concentrates on conversing with native German speakers. Besides enhancing conversational skills, students will develop reading, writing, and listening skills.

Upper intermediate Course (B2)

Those with an exceptionally strong grasp of German will benefit from placement in the Upper-intermediate Course. This course concentrates on achieving fluency in German.

The Study German program in the city of Halle, Germany, is the ideal opportunity to study the German language intensively whilst experiencing daily life and meeting new people in Germany. This intensive German course enables participants to learn German from native German speakers. In the city of Halle (Saale), you will be practicing the German you are studying in class with local German people.

This immersion enables you to learn the language more effectively and in a shorter time. Our one-to-one or small group (1-5 students) language courses provide each student with specialized attention, enabling them to meet their language goals. If a student has specific needs, the Excellence Center will do all it can to accommodate these and provide any necessary materials. In addition, lessons may also be arranged to meet any potential needs of university study and its credit requirements.

2. German Summer Program

German Summer Program: There is truly no better time or place to learn German than during the summer in Germany, where the language naturally becomes part of your everyday life. The Excellence Center in Europe’s German Summer Program in Halle (Saale) offers international students a unique opportunity to study German in an intensive and immersive environment. By learning directly from native speakers and practicing both inside and outside the classroom, participants experience a dynamic approach that accelerates language acquisition while building real confidence in communication.

With small class sizes of up to 10 students, each participant benefits from personalized attention tailored to their individual goals and learning style.
