Management is an important tool for the conduct of work in any business entity. The theoretical study of management is important in understanding the nature of administrative work and how to manage the affairs of the business entity.  The translation of theories into reality is important in helping you to develop and improve your managerial skills for practical application and administrative work.

The Excellence Center in Europe offers the Community Center Management program (CCM) to those who wish to acquire marketable skills and experience pertaining to every aspect of running a successful community center.

The Community Center Management Program (CCM) teaches you marketing, customer service, management skills, and effective administrative task management. The program is a great opportunity to build and improve your management skills, enhancing your skills for work control, performance evaluation, administrative coordination, and follow-up of the daily pace of work. In addition, interns have the opportunity to study either Arabic or German, as well as meeting the refugee community in the city of Halle and interacting with it.

A Day in the Life of an EC Intern:

The intern starts his/her day by opening the center at 9 a.m. with breakfast at the Center at 10 a.m. Following breakfast, morning hours are devoted to implementing various administrative tasks. The intern enjoys the lunch hour by either cooking something at the Center or by going out to eat with the other interns/volunteers.

Afternoons are scheduled for the study of German or Arabic language classes. Interns also monitor the international volunteers and interns during the afternoon, as well as preparing cleaning schedules and the like.  The intern will finally close the Center at 6:30 p.m. (closing times may differ from day to day).

Why Halle (Saale)?

Halle (Saale) is a German city that has received a large number of refugees. Because of this influx, the city has become a very diverse community to visit. International interns and volunteers at the Center add to this diversity.  Additionally, Halle is home to Martin Luther University, an educational destination that attracts many international students.

Refugees, immigrants, and foreigners all contribute to the beauty of cultures found in the city. During your time here, you will be able to meet and interact with many people who originate from a variety of different countries.

Besides managing the Center, there are many things to do in Halle. Halle is a city full of cafés, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. With so many possibilities, you are bound to enjoy your time here.
