Teach English in Germany: The English language has become the most widely spoken language in the world. For that reason, there are people from every continent that are seeking to learn and enhance their English skills. If you are a native English speaker or a non-native but fluent English speaker, and you enjoy teaching, then the Excellence Center offers a program that may interest you. The Teach English & Study Arabic program is the program we want to talk about with you today.
Ranging from 2 months to 3 months, this program invites internationals to teach English in Germany while simultaneously learning Arabic with a native-Arabic speaker. This program truly is a great language exchange for those who are passionate about teaching and studying Arabic. Not only will participants be involved in this teaching/study duo, but they will have the chance to heavily engage in Arab culture.
The Excellence Center organizes multiple social events where volunteers can meet with locals and refugees in Germany. Halle (Saale), in particular, has a large Arab community where volunteers can discover the culture and practice the Arabic language. During the Arabic study portion of the program, participants are offered the chance to learn either Modern Standard Arabic, the Palestinian dialect, or the Syrian dialect. Maybe you desire to learn a combination of two or even all three. You are welcome to do that as well. Participants of this program receive 3 hours of private Arabic lessons per week.
Concerning the teaching portion of the program, volunteer English teachers will be provided with all the necessary materials to conduct their lessons. If you do not have experience teaching English, there is no need to fear. The Excellence Center will provide guidance and support every step of the way so you can have a successful class. This program is designed to train you, so do not worry about not having background experience teaching English. Volunteer teachers will teach two to three English classes during their time at the Excellence Center, as well as assist local teachers in their classes. They will also be involved in arranging English-based activities, helping the Center staff with various administrative activities (writing articles, printing materials, etc.), and organizing interactive activities. These interactive activities may include photography workshops, painting workshops, and writing workshops.
The cost of this program includes breakfast 5 times a week, the accommodation, the Arabic classes, and visits to different sites and landmarks in the city. Some of these sites include public parks, the Arab neighborhood, and the refugee dorms. This program is also open to individuals between the ages of 18 – 70 years old. Anyone who is interested in teaching English and learning Arabic or German is invited to join us in Germany. If you have further questions or comments about this program, then do not hesitate to contact us. We would love to answer any questions you may have and we hope to see you in Germany soon.
