Research on Syrian Refugees in Germany: Are you currently doing research for an organization or University? Do you want to know more about the integration process in Germany and the state of refugees adapting to life in Europe? If this is the case, then our new Syrian refugee research program is right up your alley.
The Syrian Civil War began in 2011 and since then the flow of refugees from this nation has been the center of much academic study. Though the majority of these refugees currently inhabit the countries that border Syria, namely in Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon, the issue of Syrian refugees in Europe has attracted a great deal of interest since the so-called “European Refugee Crisis” of 2014-2015. Today Germany hosts over 800,000 Syrian refugees as a result of Germanys generous “Open Door Policy” for Syrians fleeing the atrocities of the Syrian Conflict.
Though these refugees are now safe from the horrors of war they currently face a wide array of new challenges adapting to their new life in Germany. Syrian refugees come from different culture and speak a different language. Because of this many have found the transition to life in Germany to be a quite a daunting experience.

Our managers are very experienced in the field and have been aiding Syrian refugees in Germany for over two years. The center will help you visiting families or young people and talk to them or interview them and ask them questions that you need in your research.
What does our research program include?
Our research program includes accommodation either with a host family or in a dorm. Volunteers will also be able to take either Arabic or German language. Living in Germany and volunteering with Syrians will allow volunteers to practice either German or Arabic with native speakers on a daily bases. Volunteers will also take part in tours of the city of Halle that will lead by the Excellence center. This will allow you to learn about the history of the city and to see its many landmarks.
If volunteers fancy they will also be allowed to participate in our many social and community events. The center organizes many social events for Syrians and German locals in order to strengthen relations between these communities and to help Syrians develop new relationships with the locals of Halle.
Do I need to speak Arabic to participate in the program?
