Time & Duration

The Excellence Center in Europe welcomes students, English native and non-native speakers, and people from all countries who are 18 to 70 years old to join any of the Center’s volunteer, internship, and Arabic programs.

The period of participation can span anywhere from 1 to 13 weeks. For volunteers, interns, and students, the EC’s program flexibility is designed to work around their schedules, with programs being available year-round (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter), as well as starting and ending dates up to the participant’s choice!

Do I need English Teaching experience to join one of the Teaching internship programs in Europe?

Most people who want to join internships that involve teaching English ask whether English Teaching experience is required. At The Excellence Center in Europe: 

  • The English classes are mainly based on the conversational part of the language.
  • All teaching materials will be provided to you.
  • The center’s staff will help you whenever you need it.

So you do not need any prior experience as an English teacher to take part!

Flexible Booking

At the Excellence Center in Europe, we understand that things change. As such, our programs are incredibly flexible in case you need to alter travel plans or just simply have a change of heart.

As programs begin at the center year-round (with flexible start and end dates), you decide your arrival. Furthermore, you’re able to change your start date entirely free of charge if requested at least two weeks beforehand.

Do I need a special visa to do an internship in Germany?

No, to join an internship in Europe you don’t need to obtain a special visa. To join an internship in Germany, all you need is a tourist visa which can be given for up to three months. Most Western countries can get visa-free upon their arrival for up to three months, but we advise checking with your local government to see their visa policies.

What do you need to join any of the internship programs in Germany?

If you decide to join an internship program in Europe/Germany, there are things you don’t need to be, have, or hold. The internship programs are designed to be simple and open to as many people without many restrictions. You do not need:

  • Any knowledge of Arabic or German.
  • Any kind of experience in teaching English.
  • To currently be a student.

But you are required to have, or be studying for, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

What does a day in the life of an intern or volunteer look like?

If you join one of the internship programs in Europe, you will be able to get personal, practical, and life experience by being in Germany. Your day will look like:

  • The day starts with a group breakfast at the Center at 9:30 a.m.
  • After breakfast, the interns either meet with his/her students for the first English class of the day, prepare and give presentations, or write articles for publication.
  • After that, the interns have their choice of cooking lunch in the center or visiting a restaurant in the city with other interns and/or volunteers.
  • In the afternoon, an intern will either teach another English class or partake in German or Arabic lessons.
  • The center closes at 6 p.m. Interns and volunteers are asked to assist in one cleaning duty per week.
