The Excellence Center, established in 2018, provides educational, cultural, and community development services to international students, interns, volunteers, and local Arabic community members, including children, refugees, youth, and women. It offers 20 volunteer and internship programs, along with Arabic language programs for internationals. Throughout the years, the center has hosted hundreds of participants from all over the world.

Arabic? Yes, & More

“I spent 8 weeks at the Excellence Centre in Halle, my second summer doing an “Arabic Intensive Program” . Unlike the academic setting at the University of Wisconsin, Halle was full of life. Arabic came out of the textbooks and into real life—through songs, games, cooking, and even love letters.

We explored history, culture, and the language in a way that made it truly meaningful. Muaz brought Arabic to life, and the experiences in Halle, from trips to museums to visits to Arab restaurants, deeply enriched my learning. “I spent 2 weeks volunteer to learn German and teach English at the Excellence Center in Halle. While the program wasn’t as intensive as expected, I enjoyed the German lessons with Muaz and loved teaching English one-on-one.
