The Excellence Center in Europe is located in the city of Halle (Saale). It offers internships for those who wish to teach English to Germans and resident refugees in the city. The Excellence Center is experienced in organizing, arranging, and coordinating international volunteer and internships programs for the teaching of English.
What do teaching English internships entail?
You will be focused on teaching conversational English to children and adults. In addition, you will help the Center’s staff with general administrative tasks.
How long is an internship?
At the Excellence Center in Europe you may intern for a minimum of one month long, and as long as three months.
Do I need to speak Arabic or German to intern in Germany?
No, you do not need to speak Arabic or German in order to intern at the Excellence Center. You must be proficient in English, however, in order to teach English, and to communicate with the Center’s staff who are all fluent in English.
What benefits do interns in Germany enjoy?
For the length of your internship program, you will reside with a host family in the city of Halle; you will eat a daily breakfast at the Center with other internationals and Center staff; you will receive three hours of Arabic or German language instruction per week.

Not only will you meet the refugees of Halle, but you will also have the opportunity to learn about the refugee crisis and what has driven these people to become refugees, fleeing to Germany in search of safety and peace.
