Try Arabic food in Halle, Germany

In Arabic culture, a good amount of time needs to be given to meals each day because the social element of coming together to eat cannot have a timer put on it. The preparation of Arabic food can also often belong, particularly because they will involve so many different delicacies rather than one simple meal like a bowl of pasta.

Arabic shops

There are a number of Arabic grocery stores and restaurants to explore in Halle. The Arabic store 100m from the Excellence Center is phenomenal. While there are all the basics you could ever need, it has so much more than that. It is worth exploring for its variety, colorfulness, brands, and ingredients you may never have seen before.

Different cuisine

What is so appealing about Arabic food is that it appreciates both simplicity and complex taste. It varies depending on the Arabic country but here is an array of its artful produce that you can try in Halle through your host family, the many Arabic restaurants, or at the Excellence Center social events like Brunch and Dinner together.

Examples of Arabic food

  • Rafat the co-founder of the Excellence Center makes a very good hummus served with oil which is worth trying.
  • The classic Arabic flatbread is a soft, thin bread tastes exquisite simply with pure Arabic oil. To add a new taste, combine the oil with a dip in Arabic spice. The flatbread can be used with any meal, breakfast,
  • lunch, or dinner as an addition. It can even be described as the cutlery of Arabic food, as you use it to pick up a range of delicacies. It is not necessary for cutlery and plates to be used for traditional Arabic meals as every dish is shared between people.
  • Meat is not an essential part of every Arabic meal. There are definitely vegetarian and vegan options with Arabic food because within each meal there are so many options of delicacies. Kebabs are delicious with their meaty texture and you could spend a long time trying all the kebabs in Halle. The Aubergine Kebab is a nice balance of vegetables and meat.
  • Fish forms a considerable part of the Arabic diet as all fish is considered halal, whereas pork, for example, is harem (forbidden).
  • A plate of green pepper chilies served with lemon and radishes is stimulating and fresh. Veg and fruit is almost always served with Arabic meal, including tomatoes, beans and more.
  • A local falafel store in Halle produces such a good quality meal for just 2.50 euros; falafel served with cucumber, tomato, gherkins, lettuce, a sweet brown sauce, and mayonnaise. Halle’s residents, especially its university students, flock here for lunch.
  • Snacking is less common, potentially because every meal is worth waiting for, but certainly, it is a lot healthier. A dish with a selection of dates, walnuts, raisins, and other nuts form a delicate presentation in an Arabic household you have the chance of staying with.
  • For a sweet tooth, spiced Arabic coffee served with chocolate is an option. Thick pancakes freshly can be drizzled in a sugary syrup, or filled with thick yogurt to form a type of cream-fill pastry. Pistachio dessert is exquisite. After a meal, sugared tea or coffee is often served as a nice way to continue the sociality of the occasion.
