Short-term Internship Programs in Germany at the Excellence
Internships in Germany in summer 2019 that will aid and strengthen refugees, while providing the intern with knowledge, experience, and the satisfaction of helping others.
The flow of refugees into Germany has created many internship opportunities. Refugees are in need of educational opportunities for their new lives abroad. Thus, interning in Germany means that you can offer your help to these people in need, whether by the use of skills you may have or experiences you have gained.
You may find yourself teaching English, teaching others to draw or paint, read music or play a musical instrument, or you may teach employment and managerial skills. There is no limit to the possibilities in sharing your talents, education, and experience with others who desperately need your help to successfully begin life anew.
Where do I go in Germany for a meaningful internship experience?
The Excellence Center Europe believes that it will provide you with the most meaningful and satisfactory internship experience. The Center is located in the city of Halle (Halle/Salle) which, in addition to the internship experience, will provide you with direct experience of German daily life.
The Excellence Center Europe is the branch facility of the Excellence Center in Hebron, Palestine. The Centers possess extensive experience in the field of education, as well as the organizing of international programs designed to build bridges through cultural exchange.
Time Periods for internship programs in Germany
Internship programs run anywhere from one to three months in duration at the Excellence Center. The programs are flexible so that you are able to participate at any time during the year, as well as your choosing the start and end dates for your internship to better fit your schedule. Internship programs are open to anyone from the ages of 18 to 70 years. People from all educational disciplines and employment experiences are welcome to apply and intern.
What are the benefits of interning at the Excellence Center Europe?
One of the most important benefits you will receive is your residing with a host family for the period of your internship. Your host family will introduce you to German culture, customs, traditions, and the daily flow of life in Halle. You will be immersed in German language learning and the opportunity to practice German with your host family and the local population. In addition, you will be participating in many workshops and extracurricular activities organized by the Center, as well as social and cultural events.
These activities and events include refugees and the local residents of the city of Halle. The Center organizes evenings for entertainment and cultural rapprochement between German society and the refugee community. The Center seeks to build bridges between peoples and cultures. The Excellence Center will also organize short city tours and visits for you so that you become acquainted with the history of Halle.
Not only will your internship provide the chance to learn the German language, the Excellence Center will provide you also with an opportunity to learn the Arabic language and culture as well. This is so because of the large number of Syrian refugees whose native language is Arabic. These refugees fled Syria to Germany because of the war in Syria. These short tours aim at introducing program participants to the city’s history and landmarks.
Do I need a visa to enter Germany?
As a rule, the traveler to Germany needs a short-term Schengen visa, a type of visa that gives the holder a 90-day stay; however, there are some countries’ citizens who are exempt from the Schengen visa for short-term visits of 90 days or less. These countries are Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, New Zealand, Panama, Monaco, Mauritius, the Northern Mariana Islands, Mexico, Uruguay, South Korea, Venezuela, Singapore, and the Seychelles.
Other countries, such as Macedonia, Montenegro, the United States of America, the Virgin Islands, Guam, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Serbia, whose citizens do not need a short-term Schengen visa, IF they have a biometric passport.
