Voluntary work in Germany: There are a number of places to do voluntary work in Hamburg, Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, Munich, Frankfurt, Köln, Bonn, Dusseldorf or Stuttgart in Germany but perhaps one of the best is the Excellence Center in Europe located in the main heart of Halle (Saale) in the East part of Germany. The Excellence Center in Europe as an educational establishment that offers voluntary work in Germany, gives the international volunteers, interns, and students many great opportunities to experience the German culture during their stay in Halle, (Saale).
What you can do during your volunteering in Germany?
At the Excellence Center in Europe, your volunteering duties will revolve around teaching conversational English classes to refugees and immigrants ranging from young children to adults. Additionally, you will assist English teachers in their classes as well as teaching conversational English classes yourself with other volunteers. Furthermore, we will ask you to write some articles about your experience in Germany. Finally, you can also organize some community workshops for people in Halle including immigrants, refugees, and local people.
How many hours should I volunteer a day?
In one day you will generally work from 4-6 hours with Sunday and one other day of your choosing off. We are also very flexible when it comes to starting and ending dates, you can freely choose them. You can join our family from one week to three months.
Amongst the different places to do voluntary work in Germany, the Excellence Center in Europe is very flexible in allowing its international volunteers and interns the opportunity to explore and experience Germany in addition to their volunteering. The Center organizes community events where you can meet a lot of new people and experience the local culture.
Should I speak German to volunteer in Germany?
Not at all! During your voluntary work in Germany, you will get 3 hours a week of German language or Arabic language, you will be complemented by the experience and practice you receive living in a country surrounded by German and Arabic speakers.
Experience Europe and Germany
The Excellence Center in Europe distinguishes in offering voluntary work in Germany by also organizing trips and excursions for its international volunteers and interns during the volunteering period in Halle (Saale). The Center brings the volunteers and interns to places such as the Old City of Halle as well as refugee camps in Germany, amongst other places. This allows the volunteers and interns in Germany to better understand the place they are staying in, it’s history and culture.
During their stay here the volunteers and interns who decide to do voluntary work in Germany will be provided with host families or a dorm for them to live with. This is a great opportunity for volunteers because it allows them to be fully immersed in the German culture for the duration of their stay in Germany.
Who Can Volunteer in Germany?
Most German organizations have an age requirement for its volunteers. At the Excellence Center in Europe, people of all ages are welcome to apply to volunteer in Germany. People who are the ages of 18 and 75 are welcome to volunteer with us in Halle (Saale). In addition, all majors, nationalities, and specializations are welcome to apply to join our center in Germany.
