The Excellence Center in Europe provides many volunteer opportunities for people who are from Australia and New Zealand.  As a volunteer, you can stay from 3 days to 3 months; you can also freely choose your starting and ending dates. The Center welcomes volunteers year round.

Do Australian or people from New Zealand need a visa to volunteer in Germany?

Not really, upon arrival in Germany, you can get a tourist visa for three months and this visa allows you to volunteer or stay in Germany. If you would like to stay longer than 3 months and work in the country, you have to register in the city and get a residence permit.

Do I need to be a student to join the volunteer programs in Germany?

No, volunteers from Australia and New Zealand do not have to have any degrees or skills to join our programs in Germany. We also welcome Australian and New Zealand students to join all our programs.

 What about the age of participants in the volunteer programs in Germany?

The Excellence Center in Europe welcomes people who are between 18-75 years old. We also highly welcome people who are above the 50s to apply for our volunteer, internship and study programs in Germany.  Participants from Australia and New Zealand who are under 18 need to get an approval from one of their parents to join our programs.

What can I do as a volunteer in Germany?

The Center offers many opportunities for its volunteers from Australia and New Zealand. You can teach English to locals, refugees, and immigrants. We are also looking for people to help us write about the refugees in Germany as well as the German culture, integration in Germany and the activities of the Excellence Center. You could also help or organize some sport, cooking, educational, workshops for refugees in Halle, Saale. Germany. We are also very flexible; you can suggest what you can do during your time with us.

Do I need to have any volunteer experience before joining you in Germany?

Not at all, you do not have to have any degrees or experiences to join all our volunteer programs in Germany. All people from Australia and New Zealand are welcome to apply for all our volunteer programs in Germany.

Do I have to pay a fee to join your volunteering programs in Germany?

Yes, the center does not receive any funds. There is a fee for each volunteering program and it starts from 200 Euro. The program’s fee covers pre-departure support, breakfast, accommodation, tours in the city, language course (3 hours or Arabic or German), learning materials and full support during the time of participation in Germany.
