This article will provide all interested applicants with the information needed to volunteer with refugees in Germany.

Why Germany is a good place to volunteer?

Following the refugee crisis of 2014-2015 Germany has become a major hub for non-governmental organizations and human rights groups. These organizations have gathered in Germany to lend a helping hand to the many refugees who have fled to Europe in order to escape violent conflicts occurring in their countries. Since the start of the Syrian Civil War in 2011 the United Nations has estimated that over 5 million Syrian refugees have been forced to flee their homeland in order to escape the unimaginable atrocities occurring in Syria today.

Of the millions of Syrian refugees worldwide, it is estimated that over 700,000 Syrians are currently receding in Germany. These new arrivals have escaped the horrors of the Syrian war. But they are still in need of aid. Many of these new arrivals still need help adapting to their new lives in Germany. Because of this volunteers are currently in very high demand. This could be done through education by teaching a new skill or by simply being a friend to a person alone in a new country.
