Trip to Germany 2019

The Excellence Center in Europe invites you to join our tour in Germany where you can discover, enjoy, and immerse yourself in the German culture. A trip to Germany is an ideal program for those who want to engage in German daily life, as well as meet locals, refugees, and internationals. As you may know, Germany has hosted a large number of refugees in recent years. During your stay in the country, you will be able to better understand the life of refugees who resettle in Germany, as well as see how refugees are integrating into society.

A trip to Germany is designed to show participants the uniqueness of the country by visiting numerous historical sites and landmarks. This program includes opportunities to engage in social and community activities that are organized by the Center too. The Excellence Center coordinates cultural and musical evenings that will give participants a glimpse into the diversity of life found in Germany.

In addition, since people from all over the world reside in Germany, participants will get the chance to taste a wide variety of foods. In the country, you can find, for example, Indian food, Arabic food, Asian food, Pakistani food, Turkish food, and, of course, German food. In total, the Trip to Germany program includes a full, in-depth look into German culture and the cultures of individuals who reside in the country. If you have the desire to travel to Germany and want to do so in a unique way that grants you the opportunity to engage with locals, refugees, and cultural activities, then consider participating in this program.

How long is the trip?

The trip is intended to be concise, yet still very informative and enjoyable. Thus, the trip is designed to be only one week long. During that week, participants will get the chance to visit four cities in Germany, including Halle (Saale), Leipzig, Berlin, and Dresden.

Why these four cities?

Since the trip is only one week long, it has to be diverse enough to give you an idea of life in Germany. We choose these four cities for a reason:

  1. Halle city is where the Excellence Center is located. It is the arrival destination for trip participants. In addition, this is the city where the events, activities, and cultural and musical evenings will take place. Since Halle has hosted a large number of refugees, the city is worth visiting for this reason. If you want to know more about the living situation of refugees in Germany and learn how they are integrating into the German culture, then coming to Halle is necessary.

  1. Leipzig is a city rich with history. Apart from Frankfurt, Leipzig has been the center for book printing throughout history. The city also houses one of the oldest German universities with about 30,000 students. In 2010, Leipzig was classified as one of the 70 most liveable cities in the world. The New York Times classified the city as one of the 10 most visited cities as well.

  1. Berlin is the city of pleasure and diversity. It is also the capital of Germany. Following London, Berlin is the largest city in Europe in terms of size. Though, indisputably, Berlin is number one is cultural diversity. With plenty of linguistic, religious, and ethnic diversity in the city, a trip to Berlin is essential to any trip to Germany. The history and culture found in the city is too great to not experience. Visiting Berlin will also provide participants with a chance to visit the Berlin Wall, which is one of the most important places of tourism in Berlin and the world at large.

  1. Dresden is located in eastern Germany. It is the capital of the state of Saxony and has a population of roughly half a million. The city was destroyed by allied forces in World War II and has been the scene of many historical events. It has long been both the “pearl of German cities” and, at other times, one of the “most destructive cities in Germany”. In addition to the history, the city is famed for its art scene. Many artists, musicians, and writers from all over the world showcase their work in the city.
