How Long are the Internships in Germany?   

Internships in Germany at the Excellence Center in Halle generally last one to three months. The programs are very flexible. You can apply to programs anytime! We host people during summer, winter, autumn, and spring terms.

Language Requirements 

All internships in Germany at the Excellence Center are in English. You donā€™t need to speak German or Arabic to participate in internship programs in Germany, but you will be expected to speak English well enough to teach language classes and communicate with the Centerā€™s staff.

What are the fees for the internships? 

The English Teaching Internships offered by the Excellence Center in Halle start at 750 euros a month and the Internship in Germany program starts with 1500 Euro a month, which includes breakfast, accommodations, and German and/or Arabic classes, as well as tours to various landmarks and sites in Halle, such as Arab neighborhoods, refugee dormitories, public parks, and historical sites.

Life in Halle (Saale), Germany

Life inĀ Germany, and inĀ HalleĀ in particular, is something everyone must experience for themselves. International volunteers, students, and interns atĀ the Excellence Center in EuropeĀ are given many opportunities to experience life in Halle through cultural immersion with Germans, refugees, immigrants, and other internationals.

International visitors to Germany can live withĀ German or Arab host familiesĀ and see the life of local or immigrant families by engaging with them daily, playing with children, learning how to cook, and eating traditional foods. Some other things international visitors to Germany can do during their stay inĀ Halle (Saale)Ā include visiting the charming old city (Marktplatz) or going to many of the traditional cafes or Shisha bars which are around the Marketplace and not far at all fromĀ the Excellence CenterĀ Office

On their days off or weekends, visitors can visit other German cities such asĀ Leipzig,Ā Berlin,Ā Dresden,Ā Weimer,Ā Munich, and others. You can also easily travel by bus or train to other European countries, such asĀ Czech RepublicĀ (4 hours bus ride) orĀ the NetherlandsĀ (6 hours bus ride), at an affordable price.

Visa to Germany

If you are coming from a European country that has signed the Schengen agreement, then you do not need a visa to enter Germany. For those who come from countries that are a part of this program, you are permitted to stay in Germany for up to three months.

All other travelers will need to apply for a Schengen visa to enter Germany. This visa will allow you to enter and stay in Germany for a maximum period of 3 months (90 days). It is important to note that this visa prohibits visa-holders from getting a job (even as a freelance) during their stay.
